書き起こし
Some time later, the volunteer tomato is knee-high and leafy, still rooted in the same crack. Kai waters the surrounding flowers with a metal watering can, letting a little water reach the tomato without making a project of it.

Weeks later, Kai waters the garden while the volunteer tomato has grown knee-high in the same paving-stone crack.
この話について
Kai finds a tomato seedling growing improbably between two paving stones and decides not to transplant it. What begins as an experiment in leaving things alone becomes a lesson in the difference between neglect and care. As the plant grows, heat and wind test it; Kai resists the urge to optimize everything, but eventually gives the plant just enough help to survive without taking control. Weeks later, the first tomato ripens. The small harvest becomes a quiet reminder that a slow life is not passive — it is attentive.
