書き起こし
Two panels in a dimly lit workshop. In the top panel, a man watches a woman kneeling by a cracked clay pot containing a leafy hazel plant, which is encircled by a glowing golden thread. In the bottom panel, both characters work together to lift the plant, now wrapped in burlap, out of the shattered pot as the golden thread rises upward. Visible text, in reading order: Fern: We can plant it by the road. Fern: But it will need room to change.

この話について
Wet soil leads Fern and Wren to Room Seven, where a dead gatekeeper's rescued hazel has outgrown its pot. Ida recalls the promised roadside hedge. Rather than postpone the promise with a bigger container, Fern frees the circling roots and plants the shrub beyond the garden gate. The keeper lets go, leaving the living to tend what grows. Back underground, a golden leaf rises against gravity at Room Eight.
